What do you do when your 60th birthday Alaskan cruise is cancelled??? Well, book a couple penthouses in Mission Beach of course! We were on the hunt for a place that could hold all 23 of us, including 7 grandkids. Dana Horne Vacation Rentals had just the spot for us. It was perfect. We separated the families with kids into one unit, in hindsight it was a LITTLE crazy for them with 7 kiddos 5 and under running around, but, it meant one of the places could be a little quieter.

We tried not to over plan the week, plus COVID was still a consideration. We ate at all our local favorites, Kebab Shop, Robertos, In-N-Out, and Luigis.

We spent one, fun, HOT, day at the San Diego Zoo, it’s a must if you’ve never been. The grand kiddos all loved it.

Afterward we stopped at my Aunts and enjoyed a walk on one of my all-time favorite bridges in San Diego.

Most of the time we spent at the beach. We played volleyball one afternoon.

Our older kiddos took scooters down to the Roller Coaster.

We walked over the bay side.

It was a lovely, relaxing, beach filled time with friends and family.
