This was our second time to Sofia. The first time was in January, and I’d have to say the warmer months are a bit nicer than freezing cold winter months! Our friend Jarod was teaching so our friend Lindsay showed us around town. We loved visiting the Red Flat. An apartment set up as it would have been in communist times. It was very interesting to say the least.
We stopped at Sense Hotel’s rooftop restaurant to enjoy the view on the way home. When you’re in Sofia, I don’t know if your visit is complete if you don’t stop at Vitosha Boulevard, it’s a lovely street of shopping, good food and people watching.
Our friends, their two kiddos and the hubs and I all went to Ashurbanipal for dinner in Sofia. Bring your cash, and your appetite. This is one of the best family style meals I’ve EVER had. Absolutely delicious!
On our last afternoon we enjoyed a hike near Bistritsa, and then went to a restaurant owned by friends of our friend. Sage Bistro. We were a little underdressed, but we enjoyed it. The food and the view were fantastic. It was a great way to end our time in Sofia.
