We came back for a week with our good friends to stay at our time share again. This time, we were prepared. We went to Tulum loaded up with bug spray, and it was a MUCH better experience! We went later in the day, rather than first thing in the morning so it was super crowded, but not having bugs chomping us was amazing. And this time, the steps down to the beach were open so we were able to go down there and put our feet in the sand.
We were also able to check out another cenote, this time we opted for Dos Ojos. I really didn’t think anything would compare to Grand Cenote, but we really loved this spot!
If we go back, I think we’d pay more 250 pesos more, for the tour. Where a guide with flashlights takes you further back into the cave. There’s ojo 1 and ojo 2, do them in that order, because ojo 2 is the best one.
We walked into Playa Del Carmen and found $20 hour long massages on the beach, the only bummer was the long walk back afterward. First we strolled through town and found some delicious street tacos.
Across the street from our resort was Plaza Playacar. There’s a Starbucks there, and any kind of souvenir you could imagine. It’s a nice spot for a stroll.
Despite all the rain, we really enjoyed this trip to Playacar, we feel like with each trip we’re getting all the ins and outs down for a really good vacation. I’m already excited to ponder when we might be coming back.
