Having spent 2 nights in Riomagiorre, we knew we wanted to come back and spend some more time in Cinque Terre. So when we took our younger 3 kids to Israel, we booked our own flight home with a stop in Italy, and then on to visit family in Germany.
This time, we stayed in Vernazza. A wonderful VRBO that was just perfect for us. We highly recommend it. We only had a couple nights again but this time we hiked from Vernazza to Montarosso, took the train down to Riomagiorre, and then hiked from there to Manarola. The “Lover’s Walk” along the ocean was closed so we took a back way. Absolutely lovely hike! We wish we’d had more time but I’d say it’s a place we would happily return to again. Maybe next time we’ll stay in Montarosso as there are sandy beaches there. We didn’t stop in Corniglia, just rode the train through, or rather under, it. It’s up on a cliff though and there’s no easy water access. Plus, we had all voted and decided a relaxed evening in Vernazza watching the sunset rather than cramming in one more town sounded good.

The whole area is just amazing! We ate at this little restaurant in Riomagiorre, remembering our wonderful meal the first time we went, it did not disappoint. Veciu Muin.

Next time you’re planning a trip to Italy, you MUST visit Cinque Terre!
