My hubby had been to KC as a kid, and had returned in 2018 to spend time with a friend who was there grading AP Calc tests. That trip, combined with a coworker mentioning rental properties there, sparked an idea for us to take a trip and see what kinds of properties KC had.

We immediately fell in love with the area, the trees are just incredible, and the real estate market insane. And every time we go now, we discover another delicious BBQ joint. Having been out now multiple times, I felt it was a disservice to not mention KC on our travel blog.

If you’re ever in the area, check out West Bottoms area, The Plaza, The Workhouse Castle, these are great spots for photography lovers. One trip when we were working on a Four Plex we’d purchased, we spent a night at Silver Heart Inn, it’s a cool vintage spot to stay.

And the following is some amazing BBQ and other yummy spots, in no specific order, although Jack Stack has been my favorite.
