Having never been to Boston in the fall, thanks Veggie Tales, we decided it was time to visit. Not in the fall, but anytime is better than no time! 🙂
We planned our trip for a 3 day layover coming home from Canada. We wondered the city following the Freedom Trail. My kiddos aren’t too into History so on our own I think we would have soaked in the sites a bit more, but we were able to get a good taste at least.
We were even blessed to have a friend with Sox season tickets. So we got two good seats and bought bleacher seats for the kids. Who ended up being able to come sit with us just in time for the stadiums rendition of “Sweet Caroline”, ba ba bah. You know you’re humming it now too.
Despite the recent bad press, we did the Duck Tour and after a few minutes our daughters forgot they were nervous to be on the tour. I’d highly recommend this as a first when you’re visiting Boston, as it can help you figure out where you may want to spend more time. We really enjoyed it.
We also rented a car for a day and drove down to Cape Cod where we enjoyed the beach, and then Plimoth Plantation on the way home. And of course a stop to see Plymouth Rock.
We really enjoyed our time in Boston, and I’d definitely go back some day!
