My friends daughter was going to a Ballet camp in Philadelphia and she asked if I’d like to join her for part of the trip. We’d done this in NYC and had a blast. Her daughter does ballet all day and we explore the city. Having never been to Philadelphia, I was excited to see a new place. I also happen to be there for July 4th where we saw some amazing fireworks and live music from The Roots.
I fell in love with Philly Cheesesteaks, gotta have onion, cheese AND whiz. YUM! Makes my mouth water just remembering it! We also discovered Reading Terminal. Wow. Foodie heaven. Best pretzel EVER and a banana donut that had us coming back two times a day, for the rest of our trip. Absolutely delicious. I dream about taking my husband and two youngest kids there, and sadly, it’s mostly because I want that pretzel and donut!!
We of course enjoyed some sites too. Touring Eastern State Penitentiary. And of course Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. It felt quite patriotic being there for July 4th as well. It was a lovely city, see what I did there, and I know I’ll return someday!
