In the middle of our week with family in Germany, we grabbed the six kids and flew to Venice. Our plan was to spend a night there, then rent a car and drive to Florence, spend a night, then drive to Pisa, and then down to Rome. There, we rented an apartment and would spend 3 nights before we flew on to Paris. We didn’t have a ton of time but wanted the kids to have a taste of Europe, as well as to get a taste for ourselves. Using a GPS loaded with Europe maps, we were easily able to navigate the roads, except in Rome where it led us down some alleys almost too narrow for the van we rented. But John made it through. The gelato was delicious, the scenery was gorgeous, and the memories priceless.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Italy.
